Gauri lankesh

Sanatan Sanstha which is based in Goa was being alleged to be involved in the murder of 55-year-old Journalist and an activist Gauri Lankesh.

Gauri Lankesh was brutally murdered on Sep 5 right outside the door of her house in Bengaluru by two unidentified bikers. She was shot seven bullets at close range, but four bullets missed the mark and she died on the spot. Her murder instantly brought a swarm of people on the roads across the nation seeking justice.

Few believed that the journalist was killed because of her fearless thought and voice that she often raised against the Sangh organizations and communal violence in the country.

The Sanatan organisation on Saturday denied their involvement in the murder of Gauri Lankesh and accused that some anti-Hindu elements were spreading these rumours in order to divert the investigations.

The Karnataka government has preferred to stay closed mouth on this not agreeing to share any details of the investigations or the reports of the Forensic Lab which indicated the type of weapon used for the murder. However, the Special Investigation Team has said that they are looking for clues to determine if any right wing activist was responsible for the murder or the Naxals were behind the crime, who also were unhappy with the journalist for bringing them into the mainstream.

Chetan Rajhans, spokesperson of the Sanatan Sanstha in his statement today said that “an attempt was being made by some anti-Hindu elements to divert the probe”. He said that some anti-Sanatan and anti-Hindu elements with the help of the media were deliberately trying to link the organisation in the murder of Gauri Lankesh and were spreading the false news to divert the investigation.

He also assured that the Sanatan Sanstha will soon organise a press conference to put up its side.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team has filed a supplementary charge sheet against Sanatan Sanstha member Virendra Tawde at a court in Kolhapur, who is suspected to be involved in a similar murder case of Left leader Govind Pansare in Maharashtra in 2015. Also, the two other Sanatan organisation members Sarang Akolkar and Vinay Pawar

Also, the two other Sanatan organisation members Sarang Akolkar and Vinay Pawar who are accused of being involved in the murder of the Maharashtra anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar in Pune in 2013 are still absconding.
