According to reports, Tamil film actor Srikanth is the second celebrity to have been allowed to vote in the polling booth even when his name was not listed in the voter’s list.

According to reports, Kollywood actor Srikanth was allowed to cast his vote in the polling station despite his name not being there in the voter’s list of the polling station. The election commission wrote to Chennai District Electoral Officer on how the actor was allowed to vote even when his name was not there in the list. Speaking to TNM, the actor said, “The polling officer allowed it since I was issued an election ID. after I got back home I realised that I my Aadhar card had the new address and later I found out that my voting was supposed to be in valluvar kottam.

Srikanth had put up a post with the tag of his voting in Saligramam Kavery School in the general elections conducted in the state on April 18th. Similarly another Tamil actor, Sivakarthikeyan had created a row when he was allowed to vote without his name not being there in the voter’s list of the polling booth. He had cast his vote in South Chennai constituency during Lok Sabha elections. Regarding Sivakarthikeyan’s matter Chief Electoral Officer, Satyabrata Sahoo said, “Sivakarthikeyan’s name was not there in the voter’s list. He has voted despite that. This is a mistake on the part of the polling booth officials present there. I have ordered for action against them.”
