In the last two months, several had quit their parties and joined YSRCP.

Pandula Ravindra Babu, Amalapuram MP, Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna, Anakapalle MP, M Srinivas Rao and leaders like former MLA, Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, amongst many  others.

Adding to the row, now TDP legislator and Guntur West MLA Modugla Venugopala Reddy submitted his resignation, to the Andra Pradesh Assembly Speaker, on Tuesday.

In the 2014 elections, Reddy was fielded to contest from the Guntur West Assembly segment which was considered to be against his wish. However, he managed to win with a majority of over 17,000 votes, but was denied a Cabinet post.

Reddy reportedly took the decision to quit the party after he was uncertain if Chandrababu Naidu would give him a ticket from Guntur constituency. Moreover, he also skipped the recent party meeting to finalise the name of the candidates for the coming election.

Reddy was a member of the Praja Rajyam Party floated by actor Chiranjeev, before joining the TDP in 2009.

He is very likely to seek the consortium of YSRCP.

Previously, the YSRCP had won 67 seats out of 175 seats in the 2014 assembly elections. However, the TDP-BJP alliance formed the government by winning the majority and it resulted in 23 MLAs being defected to the TDP.
