The ruling party in Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday termed the move of poll body to transfer three IPS Officers a ‘Conspiracy’ ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls 2019.

TDP said the three IPS Officers including DG (Intelligence) and two SPs by the Election Commission days before the General Elections 2019 is a conspiracy orchestrated by Opposition YSR Congress Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Centre ruling Bhartiya Janta Party.

TDP-led Andhra Pradesh government has on Wednesday filed ‘Lunch Motion Petition’ in AP High Court challenging the transfer of DG Intelligence and SPs of Kadapa and Srikakulam districts.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu speaking on the development in Kurnool said ‘EC has transferred 3 police officials without any reason. We will fight against CEC’s decision at the national level. CEC taking one sided decisions is not good for the democracy’.

While Earlier on Tuesday, TDP State Leader K Rammohan Rao termed the Election Commission’s move as the culmination of a well-hatched conspiracy by YSRCP, TRS and BJP. Terming it Unconstitutional, Rao said, ‘Direction of EC to act upon frivolous complaint of YSRCP, without following due procedures and principles of natural justice, is not only unjustified but also unconstitutional’

The tussle between the Poll Panel and Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party came after the Election Commission issued transfer orders to Intelligence Director General AB Venkateswara Rao, Kadapa SP Rahul Dev Sharma and Srikakulam SP Venkata Ratnam.

In its transfers Order, the Poll body has mentioned that their subordinates will take the charge. Apart from this, the three of them were asked to refrain from taking any election-related duty.
