Good news coming in from the Sunrisers as a young talent has been named as the replacement for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Sunrisers Hyderabad mentors V.V.S. Laxman informed that Andhra Ranji left-arm pacer Prithvi Raj Yarra has been selected to replace injured pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the rest of the on-going IPL in UAE.

Laxman informed Sportstar on Tuesday that Prithvi has been with the team ever since it landed in UAE as part of the net bowler’s team.

“Prithvi has IPL experience also having played for Kolkata Knight Riders last season. He has been really impressive in the nets and also bowled well in the practice matches. Hence, we thought he could be the right option,” Laxman said.

“Moreover, since Prithvi is in the bio-bubble we felt all safety measures are already being taken care off in his case and his selection will not be an issue on any front as he can straightaway join the squad without having to undergo the six-day quarantine,” the SRH mentor said.

It may be recalled that Bhuvneshwar has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL because of a thigh injury.

The 22-year-old Prithvi has played 11 first-class matches picking 39 wickets with his left-arm pace since 2017 and has also represented India-A.
