Daniil Medvedev stormed into the US Open quarter-finals with 6-4 6-1 6-0 over Frances Tiafoe at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday.
The Russian sees lost an epic five-final to Rafa Nadal at Flushing Meadows last year. He barely broke a sweat in the evening match against Ameriacan Tiafoe. Tiafoe crumbled after going down a break in the second set.
Top seed Novak Djokovic was disqualified on Sunday. He had hit a ball into a line judge. Medvedev is now preparing to win his first Grand Slam title in New York City.
He will face 10th seed fellow Russian Andrey Rubley for a place in the semi-finals.
