Google Calendar

Google is adding a small but useful feature to Google Calendar. Today onwards, when you change or delete an existing meeting, you’ll see a dialog box. In the dialog you can enter a message for other guests of the meeting regarding why are you making the change and also which type of change.

Once you hit send, the changes are saved. The users receive an email notifying them of the change along with that message in tow.

Google posted:

“There are many reasons why you’d need to make an edit to a meeting. So, we’re now making it easier to communicate those changes. Going forward, when you change or delete an existing meeting, you’ll see a dialog box where you can enter a message for other guests of the meeting.”

Prior to this update, changing a meeting’s time or deleting a meeting would leave attendees in the dark about why the meeting was rescheduled or canceled. You’d then have to send a message through a separate medium, which, depending on the number of attendees, could be tedious.
