At I/O 2018 developer conference, Google has announced a bunch of features for its apps. One of these is, mobile boarding passes and event tickets are coming to online payment app Google Pay soon. The addition of mobile tickets and boarding passes is long overdue for the Android platform.

More details about the feature:

Google collaborated with Urban Airship “to create streamlined and engaging ticketing and boarding pass experiences.” A number of travel and entertainment brands like Alaska Airlines and Regal Cinemas already utilize Urban Airship’s platform.” Google Pay tickets and passes will receive push alerts and updates for gate changes. Users will also be notified about flight delays, along with any other valuable information the user may need.

Additionally, Google will let users group passes together if more than one is being purchased at a time. It will be quite useful for anyone who likes to stay organized and may be handling the purchase of tickets for an entire group of people.  Google also plans to introduce a messaging feature. That will allow companies to contact ticket holders through the app and via lock screen notifications.

Google Pay online payments now supports all the browsers. This feature is available on Google Pay as of today, though they may not be visible to all users yet.
