The recent official YouTube video and teaser image on the Chinese social media confirm that the much-anticipated futuristic smartphone from Xiaomi will make its debut on 11th September 2017, ie, one day before the official Apple iPhone launch.

Unlike the first generation Mi MIX, the device will be featuring an 3 sided bezel less design with a narrow chin on the bottom for the camera and display sensors placement. Let’s analyse the tech specifications of the device. The device is expected to feature 6.5-inch QHD screen with the form factor smaller than the normal device with a 5.5-inch screen, the display will be protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Just like its predecessor, the device will be featuring a ceramic body with an aluminium frame to support. Instead of a microphone, the device will feature next-generation physio electric motor beneath the display. The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/836 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM with 128 GB or 256 GB of flash storage. Just like any Xiaomi flagship smartphone, the device will not feature SD card slot (according to Xiaomi, external memory slows down the device over the time).

The device is speculated to feature dual camera solution at the rear-ends with improved optics compared to the Mi 6. In terms of selfie camera, one can expect an 8 MP shooter located on the only bezel on the phone (bottom). The device will feature at least 3000 mAh battery with fast charging capability.

All these things don’t come cheap. The entry-level model with 6 GB RAM is expected to be priced around $500 (INR 40,000) and the 8 GB version to cost $650 (INR 50,000). The only way to get this device in India is to import from 3rd party resellers.
