Reliance Jio, the newest telecom player in India that swept the entire data and voice calls rate on a single shot. The Jio was officially deployed on 5th September 2016, which successfully completes one year.
Jio not only brought down the cost of data and voice calls, it made high-speed 4G data affordable to everyone with a free voice and video calls. Services like Jio TV, Jio Musi, and Jio magazine are an added advantage to the user.
The Saarathi of the team Jio, the son of the great industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani, the Mukesh Ambani congratulate the entire team for this tremendous success. Here is the letter sent by the Mr Ambani to the employees of the Reliance firm.
“Dear Colleague
On 5 September 2016, exactly a year ago, we set out on a journey, rather a mission, to unleash the power of data for every Indian. The challenge was not only to launch a new technology and operationalize it in real time across the country but to make our offering so simple, convenient and compelling that every Indian, in every city, town and village would benefit from it.
I am delighted that we did it! Together, we have created the largest end-to-end all-IP 4G in the world! It is a proud testament to your intense preparedness and undefeatable will that India has adopted Jio as its own. This is also reflected in the gigantic spurt in data consumption and customer numbers on our network, and the way our technology, network and the entire infrastructure has held up to it.
Your exemplary performance has been reflected in the way you set up the customer facing distribution network and on-boarded customers, the way you communicated our offerings and unleashed disruption through customer-friendly tariff plans, the way you laid out the infrastructure and technology and most importantly, the way you worked tirelessly to have more than hundred and thirty million satisfied customers, making Jio a true customer obsessed organization.
In this past one year, we have broken several records, both in India and globally. But what gives me the biggest personal satisfaction is to have broken the myth that India is not ready to adopt advanced technology! The way the country has embraced 4G technology and the way it is being used is already a case study for quantum technology leaps. Your efforts will make Digital India a reality, and its positive impact on India’s economic growth is the next logical development that we are beginning to witness.
For now, let me take this opportunity to congratulate and personally thank each of you for your commitment to our mission to take India to digital leadership and also thank your families for providing unstinting support during this journey. I urge you to remain steadfast on this nation-building initiative.
