Hong Kong, June 24: Over than 100 Hong Kong protesters have on Monday blocked the government building during a demonstration against a controversial extradition bill which permits suspects in the territory to be sent to mainland China for court trial or prosecution, Reuters reported.

Tens of hundreds of protesters dispersed after blocking police headquarters in the Asian leading financial centre on Saturday morning after demonstrating for straight 15 hours demanding the complete withdrawal of the proposed controversial extradition bill.

Hong Kong federal of students has given a deadline to chief executive Lam Chen Yuet-ngor and her administration by Friday to respond to protesters demand of full withdrawal of the bill, passed without any signature from her.

Tens of hundreds of people took to the streets of Hong Kong on Friday morning calling for leader Carrie Lam to step down from the administration and calling to withdraw a controversial extradition bill.

Lam has suspended the bill but some student protest group called on her to withdraw the bill, setting a deadline by Thursday.

They also demanded the government to drop the charges leveled against the detained marchers during the last week’s demonstration, and charge the security forces what they called as violent actions, and also stop calling them riot.

Zhang Jun, the Chinese assistant minister of foreign affairs, has on Monday said Beijing will not permit the Hong Kong issue to be discussed at the Group of 20 nations (G20) summit scheduled to be held this week in Osaka, Japan.

Asked whether United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping would discuss the Hong Kong issue at the G20 summit, Zhang said, “What I can tell you for sure is that G20 will not discuss the Hong Kong issue. We will not allow G20 to discuss the Hong Kong issue.”
