The American citizens, as well as most of the social media dwellers, finally breathed a sigh of relief after First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump was confirmed to have made her first public appearance at the Gold Star event after over three weeks of radio silence. The Gold Star event was a tribute held on the 5th of June at the White House, which even journalists were not allowed to cover as a show of respect towards the military families.
Despite the lack of an official coverage, videos inevitably surfaced on Twitter, showing Melania wearing a black sleeveless dress and her usual stilettos, walking into the East Room, accompanied by President Donald Trump and the rest of her family. President Trump was also recorded showing the First Lady to her seat, right across the aisle seat beside himself. Melania later uploaded a tweet in her official account which contained 3 pictures of the ceremony – two of them being a landscape click of the President and herself sitting side by side at the audience. Despite Melania only being seen in person by less than 40 military families, the public acquired assurance of the safety and good health of the First Lady following her kidney surgery back in May, 2018.
Those present at the tribute, including retired Sgt. 1st Class Diana Pike explained that Melania Trump was looking extremely beautiful throughout the session, and that President Trump himself had walked up to the podium to discuss and joke about far-fetched speculations of the reason behind Melania’s long disappearance being the fact that she had left the President and gone away. President Trump thereby negated all the funny rumours and declared that the First Lady had been in perfect health in mind and body throughout.
