China’s giant Huawei Telecom has dismissed any wrongdoing after the United States prosecutors filed criminal charges against the company, Huawei.

According to BBC news reports, Huawei also has denied criminal claims against its chief executive officer Meng Wanzhou, who was arrested in Canada in December at the US request to extradite her.

The charges leveled against Huawei in the US court include theft of technology, bank fraud and obstruction of justice. The case is expected to raise tensions between two nations – China and the United States.

In an official statement, Huawei stated that it was “disappointed to learn of the charges brought against the company today”. It further stated it did not commit “any of the asserted violations” and also that it “is not aware of any wrongdoing by Ms. Meng”.

Huawei’s official statement also said the allegation regarding stealing trade secrets was a subject of the settled civil suit, where a jury has found “neither damages nor willful and malicious conduct”.

According to Reuters news reports, the US justice department has charged Huawei and its chief executive officer (CFO) Meng Wanzhou alleged for violating the US sanctions on Iran by aiding business with Tehran through a subsidiary and further tried to hide and what was reported by Reuters in 2012.
