In what is recorded as the fifth terrorist attack in the United Kingdom, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on a packed underground train at a London station on Friday. The explosion took place yesterday when the District Line Tube as the train pulled into Parsons Green station.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) later claimed responsibility for the attack. In a statement published by its Amaq propaganda agency it the ISIS accepted that “The bombing on a metro in London was carried out by a detachment of the Islamic State.”

Following the incident, UK Prime Minister Theresa May convened for an emergency meeting calling the threats to the country critical.

As per the latest updated the British police and the Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism squad, investigating the attack, on Saturday, said that they had arrested an 18-year-old boy caught up doing moves described as insignificant. The boy was arrested in Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism squad, under the Terrorism Act.

Neil Basu, Senior National Co-ordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing said that “We have made a significant arrest in our investigation this morning. Although we are pleased with the progress made, this investigation continues and the threat level remains at critical.”

Meanwhile, the UK Prime Minister has also issued orders to increase the security and has requested the people to go about the work normally. She said that “the public should go about their daily lives but remain vigilant. People who are traveling in London will see an increased armed police presence on the transport network and security will be increased.”

Responding to the attack in London, US President Donald Trump tweeted that “another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive”

The United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May reacting to the tweet of Trump said that it is much helpful for anyone to speculate on the investigation under process in a terrorist attack.

The police reported that, though there were no serious injuries, 29 people were to suffer flash burns in the attack.
