Karachi, July 20: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hamad Obaid Alzaabi has on Friday said his nation would be inaugurating a visa centre in Karachi this year which would mark the biggest facility centre in Asia.

According to Dawn news reports, Alzaabi, during his official visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), said another such facility centre would initiate functioning in the first week of October in Islamabad, providing all facilities in the nation.

The official statement, issued by the KCCI after Alzaabi’s visit, who was accompanied by Abu Dhabi’s consul general Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, said: “Everything will be here, including medical insurance, check-ups and contracts etc, to facilitate visa issuance from the visa centre in Karachi which will be the biggest visa centre of Asia while the entire team for this Visa Centre at Khayaban-i-Shamsheer in Karachi will come from the UAE.”

The UAE officials participated in a conference at the KCCI office, where Siraj Kassam Teli, ex-President of KCCI and businessmen group chairperson, current KCCI chief Junaid Esmail Makda, vice president Asif Sheikh Javaid, senior vice president Khurram Shahzad, as well as, controlling panel members were present.

According to the statement, while expressing his deep gratitude to the KCCI members for the warm hospitality over his visit, the UAE ambassador said he paid addressed several parts of Pakistan such as Quetta, South Waziristan, Peshawar, Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad, but Karachi was the one most key cities of the nation where atmosphere, social life, people, and culture were different as compared to other sectors, including Islamabad.

The issues statement quoted Alzaabi as saying: “We are trying to find new areas of cooperation where we could work together and also examining the challenging areas so that these could be addressed by the authorities in the UAE. Insha Allah, we will put our hands together to move forward in future.”

He further added the UAE was offering Silver Investment Visa for a five-year period time, as well as, Golden Investment Visa that would be for 10 years, which were being issued under a special criterion which depend over company’s size and the capital being invested.
