Caracas, July 23: Venezuela has been struck by another enormous power blackout, with the capital Caracas among the affected regions. It is accepted about 18 of the nation’s 23 states have suffered power cut.

Jorge Rodríguez, the Venezuelan information minister, has asserted the power blackout was caused by an “electromagnetic assault” and authorities were attempting to reestablish control, according to BBC news reports.

In March, Venezuela was hit by a progression of power cuts, including one that had influenced each of the 23 states and lasted for seven days, prompting deficiencies and mobs.

In April, another blackout dove enormous swathes of the nation into dimness; however, that kept longing for hours than days.

Sporadic power outages are basic in Venezuela, where the economy has crumbled in the midst of a political crisis.

Embattled Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and other state authorities have in the past blamed the opposition sabotage and “terrorism”, reiterating allegations against the United States.

The opposition, in the interim, has stated the power outages are the aftereffect of long periods of underinvestment and corruption.

The nation’s state-run power organization Corpolec before detailed a breakdown had just influenced some regions of Caracas.

María Luisa Rivero, an entrepreneur in Valencia in the focal province of Carabobo, disclosed to Reuters news office that the idea of another power outage “unnerves” her.

“The first thing I did was run to freeze my food so that it does not go bad like it did the last time in March,” she said. “It costs a lot to buy food just to lose it.”
