At the Lokmat Maharashtrain of the Year Awards 2019 in Mumbai, whilst talking to actor Ritesh Deshmukh, Mahrashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis assured that the Prime Minister’s post is occupied by Narendra Modi till 2029, he further added, after that he would definitely like to see a ‘Maharashtrian’ occupying the top post of the country.
Fadnavis said,”The PM seat is booked till 2024 and 2029. Therefore, there is no question of anyone else occupying the post. But yes, someday after that I would surely like to see a Maharashtra leader making it to the top post.”
On being asked about difference that the BJP and Shiv Sena had in the recent past and their announcement of ‘pre-poll’ alliance, he said that on reaching ‘Matoshree’, the residence of Thackerey’s, he was treated with ‘Vada-pav’ and ‘sabudana khicdi’ by Uddhav Thacker’s wife which left him with nothing much to discuss.
Further said that Shiv Sena and BJP have always been close associates and worked together.
On Monday, PM Narendra Modi said that the BJP and Shiv Sena’s alliance ‘strengthens’ the NDA significantly and it is going to Maharashtra’s ‘first and only choice’.
PM also asserted that the BJP’s association with the Shiv Sena is beyond ‘politics’ and they are bounded together with the desire to see a strong and developed India.

Narendra Modi, also in his tweet, praised the vision of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Balasaheb Thackerey, assuring that the BJP and Shiv Sena will continue working for the well-being of Maharashtra.

Fadnavis, previously, in the joint press conference , along with BJP Party President Amit Shah and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackerey announced that the BJP is going to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections in 25 seats and Shiv Sena in 23, out of the total 48 seats.
