Washington DC, July 19: United States President Donald Trump has on Thursday announced he has nominated attorney Eugene Gene Scalia to become the nation’s next secretary of labour.
While announcing the development, he, in a tweet, said, “I am pleased to announce that it is my intention to nominate Gene Scalia as the new secretary of labour.”
He continued tweeting: “Gene has led a life of great success in the legal and labour field and is highly respected not only as a lawyer, but as a lawyer with great experience working with labour and everyone else. He will be a great member of an administration that has done more in the first 2 1/2 years than perhaps any administration in history!”

If Gene gets appointed, he will surpass Alex Acosta who has stepped down from the office last week soon after he was drawn under criticism for a merciful plea agreement which he negotiated for Jeffrey Esptein, the wealthy sex offender, in 2008.
Scalia is a partner of a law firm Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher in the Washignton DC office.
