No Plans For Advancing CBSE Board Exams: Official

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the national statutory body which maintains and controls the higher education of private and public schools of the country, has decided to not advance the class 10th and 12th board exams. The CSBE Board Date sheet will release next month on the CBSE portal. “There is no fixed date for the announcement of the date sheet yet and the examination dates will not be preponed,” said CBSE official.

The Board examinations will be held as per the last year’s schedule, with the main exams starting from March and concluding by April second week. The board has already released the CBSE Date Sheet for practical examinations which will be held in January and February.

Last Month, CBSE has released circular detailing the passing marks criteria of class 10 and 12. As per the circular, the students must obtain 33% marks in theory exams of each subject and 33% in practical exams and 33% in Internal Assessment to pass. The Practical, Project and Internal Assessment will be done by the schools, said the circular.

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said, “Internal Choices will be implemented on 33% questions for the students. The one-mark objective type questions will be around 25% in all subjects. Internal Assessment will count 20% marks in subjects with no practical assessment.
