Information regarding global smartphone sales have come now for the second quarter of 2020 from June to August and there has been a few major surprises.

Samsung is at present the #1 smartphone brand globally by beating Huawei but Xiaomi has once again managed to beat Samsung in India.

From June to August 2020, Samsung sold the maximum number of smartphones on a global level and became the #1 smartphone brand in the world.

The company has beaten Huawei and reclaimed the #1 spot.

The company also cornered a market share of 22% globally in smartphone sales in comparison to 16% by Huawei that has now gone back to #2 spot.

Apple is now perfectly positioned at #3 rank with a market share of 12% followed by Xiaomi with a global share of 11%.

During the same period in 2019, Xiaomi had a share of 8% and Apple had around 12%.

Xiaomi cemented its position and increased its share in the market by a large margin.

The market share of Samsung has increased by 10% in India in comparison to the previous quarter, but still they have been beaten by Xiaomi.

Though there has been a decrease of 1%, Xiaomi is the #1 smartphone brand in India with a market share of 29%.

Samsung has increased their market share from 16% in the 1st quarter of 2020 to 26% in  2nd quarter of 2020 and recording the best performance in the last 3 years.

Vivo is in the third position with a market share of 17% by beating Realme which is at the fourth position with a market share of 11%.

Realme has also lost the market share from 14% in the previous quarter to 11% in the second quarter.

Oppo has also lost its market share from 12% to 9%.
