  • Mahindra has issued a revised price list for the 2020 Mahindra Thar.
  • It will only be applicable to the customers who booked the Thar between 1st December to 8th January.
  • The company has already shelved the AX Standard and AX variant.

Also, as per the latest report, Mahindra has discontinued the AX Standard and AX variant. One of the major reason behind the discontinuation could be the side facing seats. Recently, the 2020 Mahindra Thar scored a 4-star rating at the GNCAP for the front-facing back seat variant. Well, the side-facing back seats could have been a major hurdle with the safety norms and hence those variants were shelved off.

Meanwhile, the latter is a 2.2L diesel unit that produces a maximum of 130PS. Further, both the engines are either available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Apart from this, all the variant of the 2021 Mahindra Thar comes with a 4X4 drivetrain as standard.

Alternatives

The all-new Mahindra Thar has no direct competition for now. However, there are rivals such as the upcoming Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny that are spotted multiple times while testing. Further, for 2021, Mahindra is planning to launch the next generation XUV500 alongside the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio.
