Electric cars are getting affordable with time. Even luxury carmakers are now trying to introduce their pocket-friendly EVs. Today, Audi has revealed the all-new Q4 e-Tron and Q4 Sportback e-Tron globally. Just to be precise, this is the brand’s fourth electric car for their international portfolio. Earlier, the German carmaker has already introduced the e-Tron, e-Tron Sportback and the e-Tron GT.

The price tag will obviously play a vital role for the all-new electric SUVs. For now, the Audi Q4 e-Tron range will be the most affordable electric EV for the German brand. Want to learn more about them? Here are all the details.

Audi Q4 e-Tron & Q4 Sportback e-Tron

Design-wise, both the SUVs looks modern with a typical Audi design language. It gets slimmer LED headlamps, blanked-off grille, wraparound brake light and large alloy wheels to name a few. The alloy wheel range on these electric SUVs varies from 19-inch to 21-inch.

Inside the cabin, Audi Q4 e-Tron comes with a newly designed multi-functional steering wheel, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard. However, customers can also opt for a larger 11.6-inch infotainment display as well. What looks really impressive on this all-new Q4 e-Tron range is the augmented head-up display that shows almost all the vital information to the driver.

Battery, Performance & Range

Performance alone is not the only parameter for a decent EV. In fact, customers are now smart enough to demand a better range as well. For now, the all-new Q4 e-Tron range comes with two battery packs on offer. To be precise, Q4 35 e-Tron comes with a 52kWh battery. Meanwhile, the other two variants get a 77kWh battery pack on offer.

Interestingly, it is the Q4 35 e-Tron and Q4 40 e-Tron that comes with the rear-wheel-drive powertrain. Both of them comes with electric motors that produce 170PS and 204PS respectively. The German carmaker has also introduced the top-spec Q4 50 e-Tron variant that gets Quattro all-wheel-drive powertrain. Unlike the other two variants, this one gets two electric motors that produce a combined output of 299PS.

Range from all these electric SUVs stands up to 520kms (WLTP) on a single charge. Meanwhile, both the mid and top-spec variant comes with a maximum charging capacity of 125kWh. Apart from this, the entry-level variant comes with a lower capacity of 100kWh.

Alternatives

When launched in India, Audi Q4 e-Tron and Q4 Sportback e-Tron will go head-on against the likes of the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Volvo has recently revealed the all-new XC40 Recharge electric SUV globally. In terms of features, it comes with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, Harman Kardon surround sound system and a sunroof just to name a few.

Apart from all this, Volvo XC40 Recharge comes with a 74kWh battery that returns a claimed mileage of 418kms. Well, that is how it is one of the closest rivals to the upcoming Audi Q4 e-Tron range.
