The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has announced to offer a Post graduate (PG) certificate programme in data science for Business excellence and innovation.

The programme is especially designed for working professionals. The certificate course is planned with a convenient schedule such that the a employed personal can manage both work and education.

The duration of this programme ranges between 9 to 12 months. Teaching sessions under this programme will be conducted via online mode which will provide the flexibility of learning from remote locations.

The institute’s aim behind this PG certificate programme is to provide upskilling opportunities to working professionals who are in currently in the start or mid phase of their career.

This skills will not only enhance the efficiency of an professional but will also benefit their role in the industry or company for which they are currently working.

IIM Nagpur has partnered with Jaro education, an Indian EdTech service provider, to offer this course. While the curriculum for this certificate programme is designed by expert faculties at the institute.

As informed by Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, the Director of IIM Nagpur, the institute at the start of this year planned for three special programmes out of which the flagship MBA programme is up and running.

While the PhD and MBA programme for working professionals is going to commence from August. This programme are also proposed to be introduced in Pune and hyderabad till the next year.

The institute has already registered the first batch for this programme which consists of 40 percent female candidates. The average work experience among this candidates is about 11 years.

The candidates are from over 60  multinational companies including Bank of America and Genpact. IIM Nagpur has received applications for this programme from around 31 cities across 14 states of the country.

An Inaugural ceremony for this programme was held at the campus of IIM Nagpur. Srimathi Shivashankar, the Corporate Vice President and Head of HCL Technologies, attended the ceremony as guest of honour.
