10,000 Units Of Tata Safari Rolled Out In Just Four Months: Tata Motors

It’s been four months since Tata Motors has launched the all-new Safari and today, the brand has confirmed that they have rolled out the 10,000th unit from the Pune facility. As claimed by the brand, they have already finished the production of the first 100 units back in February 2021. However, the other 9,900 units were assembled in a short span of four months which is definitely a proof that customers are loving this new SUV a lot.

The market share of the new Tata Safari in the 6/7-seater SUV segment is somewhere around 25.2%. Surprisingly, the combined market share of Tata Harrier and Safari in the High SUV segment stays around 41.2%. Exterior

Based on the OMEGA architecture which is a highly localised version of the Land Rover’s D8 platform, the new Safari does remain similar to the Harrier. However, talking about the rear end, it gets a new tailgate, short rear overhang and quarter glass for the third row. When compared to the Harrier, it is around one 63mm longer.

Interior & Safety Aids

Inside the cabin, the new Safari is impressive with Oyster White upholstery. As we know, it is available with two different kinds of seating layouts. For the information, the 6-seater variants come with captain seats for the middle row. Meanwhile, the one which can seat 7 people gets a bench seat for the same.

Interestingly, there are some valuable features such as a multifunctional steering wheel, 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which altogether are intuitive to use. To be precise, the dashboard is almost similar to what the brand offers on the Harrier. Other features including a 9-speaker JBL surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting and electric parking brake makes the all-new Safari a complete package to own.

For occupants safety, the new Tata Safari comes equipped with several safety features such as six airbags, hill descent control, ABS with EBD and traction control among others.

Engine

Under the hood, it comes powered by a sole 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The overall output from this motor is rated at 170PS and 350Nm with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. For added convenience, Tata has also decided to offer a 6-speed automatic gearbox as optional.
