As soon as BS6 emission norms were introduced in India, Audi discontinued the popular Q5 with an intention to update the overall SUV. The German marque has finally decided to reintroduce it but before that, bookings for the same has already been started against a token amount of Rs.2 Lakh. Of course, it could be done by just visiting your nearest dealership but in case you classify yourself as lazy, then Audi Q5 can now also be booked via the brand’s official website.

It will be sportier than ever with a new grille up front. Interestingly, the carmaker has even decided to update several other panels in the form of new – LED headlamps, taillamps, alloy wheels and revised bumpers.

According to Audi, the lamps on both ends looks absolutely stunning, especially at night.

Interior

Absolutely premium just like the one that was available on the outgoing model. The dashboard of the updated SUV will continue to feature some premium panels with a large 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, wide centre console and controls for AC.

The updated Q5 will also boast a plethora of premium features such as ambient lighting, electrically adjustable front seats, three-zone climate control and wireless charger among others.

Engine

Remember the engine that is available on the updated A6? Well, that same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine will be powering the second-gen Q5. As per the spec sheet, this unit is truly capable of churning out a decent 245BHP and 370Nm of peak torque while being paired to a sole 7-speed DCT gearbox. To make it even capable, Audi has also decided to offer the brand’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system across the entire range.

Audi Q5 in India will go against the truly capable BMW X3. Under the hood, the SUV by Bavarian carmaker uses either a powerful 248BHP, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol or a mile-muncher 190BHP, 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. Feature-wise, it is decently loaded with LED projector headlamps, a floating 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a three-spoke steering wheel, new fog lamps and an automatic tailgate to name a few.
