The BS6 Mahindra Alturas G4 continues to be in the Indian market and giving a fierce competition against the Ford Endeavor, Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X. As per the reports from the company, Mahindra has finally launched its flagship 7-seat SUV offer in India, upgraded with the new BS6-compliant version of the Alturas G4. The updated car is priced at Rs.28.69 lakh (ex-showroom price), which reasonably indicates that the car manufacturer has increased the cost of the vehicle by almost Rs. 1 lakh. Mahindra continues to supply the Alturas G4 in two variants i.e., 2WD and 4WD. While the previous price was Rs.28.69 lakhs, the fully-loaded top-end trim model with four-wheel drive configuration will now take you away from Rs.31.69 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom price). Consider this price comparison between the BS6 Ultras G4, and we can sense a lot of difference between the outgoing BS4 model and the incoming BS6 model.

Mahindra continues to supply the Alturas G4 with the 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel, which, as before, is mated with the Mercedes-Benz-sourced 7-speed automatic gearbox. In the BS4 Avatar, the powertrain produces a maximum of 180 PS of power, with a maximum torque of 420 Nm. Like the outgoing BS4 model, the updated Alturas G4 is packed in terms of features. The car has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, dual-zone auto climate control, powered tailgate, front ventilated chair and an electric wheelchair.

The 7-seat SUV also scores well in terms of safety. Mahindra has nine airbags: Ultras G4, ABS with EBD, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Hill-Designed Control (HSD), Active Rollover Protection, Traction Systems, and Brake Assist Systems.

The BS6 Mahindra Alturas G4 will be landing against rivalry with Ford Endeavor, Toyota Fortuner, and the country’s Isuzu MU-X, which will continue to be on priority. But it is also priced at seven-seat mono-SUVs, including the Skoda Kodiak and Volkswagen Tiguan.
