Several car manufactures are introducing price hikes on their entire range citing higher input costs as the primary reason. Sadly, Force India is no different and even though the brand only has limited products for sale in India, it was forced to announce a hike of Rs.51,000 on the updated Gurkha.

This way, the revised price now stands at Rs.14.10 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) which ultimately makes Thar a better option any day. Still, want to know more about it? Let’s check out all the details related to the 2021 Force Gurkha down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 2021 Force Gurkha will now cost a massive Rs.14.10 Lakhs.

Revised Price

Only a single fully loaded variant was launched a few months ago and it was priced at Rs.13.59 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since the brand has announced a hike of Rs.51,000, the updated price is now going to be Rs.14.10 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

What’s new on the 2021 Force Gurkha?

The new-generation Gurkha was first revealed at the Auto Expo 2020 as a prototype. Interestingly, the brand managed to bring the exact same final product and that was something really interesting.

Now, comparing it with the outgoing model, the 2021 Gurkha features several cosmetic updates in the form of a new grille, large windows, basic bumpers and revised badges. The carmaker has even introduced a new pair of LED headlights to improve the overall visibility at all times.

Inside the cabin, it does remind you of SUVs from the past. Surprisingly, the dashboard now features a touchscreen infotainment system, AC controls, USB charging sockets and not so complex steering wheel. One thing that might interest you are the front-facing second-row seats. The carmaker updated it keeping in mind the feedback from the customers.

On the safety front, this SUV has been loaded with dual airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS and parking sensors to name a few.

Engine & Transmission

Powering the updated Gurkha is a 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine sourced directly from Mercedes-Benz. The carmaker claims that this unit is capable of churning out an average 90BHP and 250Nm of peak torque.

For transmission duties, Force has deployed a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Looks like the brand doesn’t believe in offering convenience and therefore, no automatic gearbox has been offered on the updated Gurkha.

Thankfully, it does feature a four-wheel-drive system. This way, the offroad capability of the new Gurkha is top-notch in every sense.

Alternatives

Force Gurkha from the beginning has been competing with Mahindra Thar. Recently, both of them received updates and therefore, let’s check out the all-new Thar down below.

Thar is one of the best sellers for Mahindra in 2021 and we expect it to get a similar response this year as well. Available with two engine options and multiple roof types, it offers freedom to choose. Sadly, this is something missing on the all-new Gurkha.

Feature-wise, Mahindra has finally introduced a touchscreen infotainment system on the new Thar. Apart from this, it gets a multi-information display, differential locks and a four-wheel-drive system across all variants.
