Four months after the concept of XPulse was revealed in Milan, Hero MotoCorp has showcased the model of the two-wheeler at the Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida. The company has brought the model which is ready for production and is expected to release later this year.

The XPulse is the second higher engine capacity adventure vehicle by Hero after the Xtreme 200R unveiled in January this year. Set to compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan despite differences in power output and engine capacity, the XPulse grabs the attention of thrill addicts and adventure junkies with its off-road suited suspension, motocross sport tires, round headlights, long and pointy mudguard and a single piece saddle.

The XPulse is based on the Hero Impulse, which is now not in production. However, unlike its counterpart, the XPulse has a fully digitized instrument set and a USB charger beneath the seat. It has a 200 cc air-cooled, single cylinder and fuel injected to generate 18.4 PS raw power and 17.1 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm for heavy performance. Weighing just 140 kg, it has 220 mm of ground clearance and aluminium skid plates for handling rough terrains. The suspension consists of telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.

Braking system consists of a single disk at the front and rear and an ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is fitted to the front wheel. The body is built on a high tensile diamond steel frame and has 10-step adjustable gas charged rear monoshock and telescopic front suspension. These features add to the performance of the bike in rough terrains and water wading.

Other features include turn by turn navigator, protective windshield, luggage rack, Anti-lock Braking System and knuckle guards.

The XPulse will be brought on sale around the June July period this year. Pricing is expected to be in the 1 – 1.2 lakh bracket to keep the prices competitive on the off-roader.
