The ‘Make in India’ campaign was a much-needed push to local manufacturing within the nation, and now, it seems like global players are also enjoying the revolution thoroughly.

Confused what we are talking about? Well, you don’t have to. The news is Audi has started rolling out the Q3 and Q3 Sportback from its SAVWIPL facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Interestingly, it is the fifth product from the German automaker after A4, A6, Q5 and Q7 that is getting assembled here.

The interesting bit about the local manufacturing concept is it not only benefits the automaker but even the customers. So, what can we expect from the upcoming Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback? Check out the details related to both luxury SUVs below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The 2023 Audi Q3 range is getting assembled in India itself.
  • The carmaker has rolled out the SUVs from its SAVWIPL plant.
  • Will be available with a 190HP, 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.

Audi Q3, Q3 Sportback: What can be expected?

You can’t expect a pocket-friendly price tag, and this is obviously a rare case. Even though Audi is assembling the SUV in India, the price list remains precisely the same because the local assembly factor was considered when the carmaker first revealed the price for this new-gen model.

As per the list, it costs Rs.44.9 Lakhs, while the sportier version of the same is available with a tag price of Rs.51.43 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both the SUVs use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Volkswagen Group. And, to dive a little deeper, it is a TFSI motor capable of churning out a decent 190 horsepower and 320Nm that comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission to push the new Q3 hard and fast.

Another important feature related to the powertrain is the all-wheel drive system. Audi believes that the grip levels should be enough at every point, enabling the person on the steering wheel to push it on corners.

The features on the Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback remain the same with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, massive sunroof, ambient lighting and electrically adjustable seats to name a few.

Right now, it does not have any direct rivals in India. However, BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Volvo XC40 are some of the SUVs that are expected to give a tough time to the upcoming Q3 and Q3 Sportback.
