Mahindra has launched the Mahindra XUV500 Diesel Automatic variant with a price tag of ₹15.65 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Pune). The all-new Mahindra XUV500 AT acquires its power from a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. This engine with the automatic transmission can produce up to 153bhp of power and 360Nm of torque.

Mahindra XUV500 AT will come with three variants – W7, W9, and W11(O). All these variants cost a premium of ₹1.21 lakh when compared to its manual variants. However, the W7 cost around ₹15.65 lakhs, while the W9 and W11(O) cost ₹17.36 lakhs and 18.88 lakhs respectively. The price difference between the manual and automatic remains the same as they were before the BS6 update.

Features such as static bending projector headlamps, all-wheel disc brakes, power foldable OVRMs, cooling box, sporty diamond-cut alloy wheels, and many more. Meanwhile, the color schemes on offer with the Mahindra XUV500 are – Crimson Red, Mystic Copper, Moondust Silver, Volcano Black, Pearl White, Opulent Purple and Lake Side Brown. The fuel economy of the Mahindra XUV500 according to ARAI is around 13.6 kmpl.

Meanwhile, the price of the Mahindra XUV500 manual gearbox variant observes a slight change in price. The four manual variants of XUV500 on offer are – W5, W7, W9, and W11(O). While the pricing of the manual variants is done between 13.10 lakhs to 17.55 lakhs. However, the next generation XUV500 will be on sale with the current generation trim. Mahindra XUV500 second generation will draw the power from a 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine will produce 190bhp of power with a peak torque of 380Nm.

On the basis of the segment, Mahindra XUV500 will directly rival the MG Hector Plus. However, at this price point, it will rival Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier. In the future, its competition will be the Tata Gravitas and the three-rowed Hyundai Creta.
