What does a real SUV mean to you? For us, it is the Mercedes G-Class that has always been a perfect example of an SUV. Recently, the G-Class trim has achieved a new milestone as the German carmaker has recently manufactured the 4,00,000th unit of the SUV. However, to celebrate this milestone, Mercedes has manufactured a G400d in red color that looks absolutely stunning.

Being a truly capable offroader, Mercedes Benz G-Class offers its customers luxury along with all the modern electronic aids. Further, the G-Class also becomes one of the longest production vehicles in history.

The latest generation Mercedes Benz C-Class was launched in the year 2018. Meanwhile, the feature list of the G-Class includes a new suspension unit, multiple drive modes, 10-way adjustable front seats and 19-inch alloy wheels among others.

In India, the Mercedes G-Class is available in two trims. The first is the G350d that comes powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. It produces 282BHP of power @ 1200-3200 RPM with a peak torque of 600Nm @ 2500-3500 RPM. However, the G63 AMG being a performance SUV comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a maximum output of 569BHP @ 6000 RPM and a peak torque of 850Nm @ 2000-5000 RPM.

However, while addressing the press conference, Emmerich Schiller, Head, Off-Road Vehicles and CEO, Mercedes said, “We are so proud to have produced 400,000 of these off-road vehicles. We’d like to thank our loyal customers and fans, plus our employees – not to mention our production partner in Graz, Magna Steyr. At present, demand far exceeds the production capacity available”.
