Mahindra-based KUV100 NXT has been in our market since late 2017. As per the latest BS6 compliance and standards, the Indian carmaker has upgraded the cross hatch to the latest emission regulations as per the guidelines by the Government authorities. The BS6-compliant KUV100 NXT petrol is expected to launch in four trim levels for Rs.5.50 lakhs for base variant and Rs. 7.8 lakhs for highest variant model. As per sources, it is reported that the entry level K2 variant has been discontinued. As we mentioned earlier, the Mahindra has left the 1.2-litre diesel motor due to low sales figure.

As per speculations, the customers are expecting a noteworthy change in the new model is BS6 compliant approved and consists of 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, capable of producing a maximum power of 83 Hp and a peak torque of 115 Nm of torque as the BS4 counterpart. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

As per reports, in terms of styling the KUV 100NXT has no changes compared to the previous model, the exterior still has the same grille design, front and rear bumper, faux skid plate and 15-inch alloy wheels. The features of the BS-IV model and BS-VI model are similar to each other and not much upgradation is seen.

For interiors, the dashboard design doesn’t change much like the equipment on offer. The K8 version continues with the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features a GPS navigation system, multi-information display, steering-mounted audio control, adjustable driver seat height and cooled glovebox.

Finally, in terms of rivalry, the upgraded KUV100 NXT continues to compete with many crossover hatchbacks, such as the recently refreshed Maruti Ignis and Ford Freestyle.
