In 2005, Toyota introduced the Innova, envisioning it as a family car. Little did they know that it would capture the hearts of Indian customers so profoundly. Now, carrying forward this successful legacy, the Japanese brand has expanded its lineup with the all-new Toyota Innova Hycross.

Excited to know more about the MPV? Let’s take a look at the details below.

Toyota Innova HyCross

Exterior & Interior

Toyota Innova Hycross sets itself apart from the standard Innova Crysta with its larger dimensions, including a longer body, wider stance and an extended wheelbase. Sporting an SUV-like appearance, the Hycross offers a commanding presence on the road. Its design feels distinct, thanks to an imposing grille, complemented by stylish body cladding that enhances its overall stance and rugged appeal.

Adding to the visuals, the MPV features sleek LED headlamps that provide excellent visibility and a touch of sophistication. The horizontal daytime running lights (DRLs) further accentuate its modern and dynamic look. Completing the package are the large alloy wheels that not only enhance the vehicle’s aesthetics but also contribute to the comfort inside the cabin.

In comparison to its younger sibling, the Toyota Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross offers a higher level of refinements and improved packaging. The interior of the Hycross is packed with premium features that elevate the overall experience. It boasts a massive 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, generously sized AC vents, and a digital driver’s display.

The MPV’s interior design incorporates a combination of soft-touch materials and metallic accents, adding a touch of sophistication and refinement.

Safety

The all-new Innova Hycross offers a comprehensive safety package to ensure the well-being of its occupants. As part of the basic safety suite, the vehicle is equipped with six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS) with Electronic Braking System (EBD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and Traction Control (TC) as standard.

Taking safety a step further, Toyota also introduced an innovative solution called Safety Sense, which incorporates a range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This system includes advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, pre-collision setup, and more.

Powertrain Options

The most popular diesel powertrain is dropped from the Innova Hycross lineup, meaning it is sold here in two variants, including – petrol and hybrid.

Let’s begin with the straightforward petrol engine, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated motor, delivering a respectable 172 horsepower and 205Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox, available across the entire range. As for the hybrid variant, it incorporates a mild hybrid system, consisting of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, a battery pack, and an electric motor.

The combined output of this hybrid powertrain amounts to 184 horsepower, and fortunately, it comes equipped with an e-Drive transmission to efficiently handle all the gearbox duties.
