A few days earlier the finance ministry was asked to increase the referral bonus of BHIM in order to attract users. In order to assist new customers with BHIM, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has developed awareness video for customers who have downloaded the BHIM app for doing UPI-based fund transfer. An SMS-based video link will be sent to the BHIM users for seamless customer on boarding.
The videos launched by NPCI will help new customers with initial steps of using the app by providing facilities like verifying their registered SIM card, generating BHIM App’s passcode, selecting their bank, generating UPI PIN for making transactions etc.
A P Hota, Managing Director of the NPCI said, “These customer-centric initiatives are being taken to encourage consumers to make digital transactions through BHIM instead of using cash. Creating a less-cash society would be easier with the right awareness and education of a customer”.
