Air India Sees Top Level Management Rejig; Check Here Who’s Got What!Source: DD India

N Chandrasekaran on Friday announced a rejig in the top management of Air India, an airline that Tata group brought back from the Government of India after going through a competitive bidding process.

Nipun Aggarwal has been selected as Chief Commercial Officer, while Suresh Dutt Tripathi is the newly elected Chief Human Resources Officer.

According to the LinkedIn page of Mr. Aggarwal, he has been with Tata Sons in the capacity of Senior Vice President since April 2017. He is an alumnus of Delhi College Of Engineering and IIM Calcutta. He will be replacing Air India veteran Meenakshi Malik, while Mr. Tripathi has been selected as the successor to Amrita Sharan. Mr. Tripathi was the Vice President of Human Resources at Tata Steel from 2012 to 2021.

Ms. Malik and Ms. Sharan will be assuming the charge of Advisors to the CEO of Air India, according to a company communique.

Air India is yet to decide on a CEO of Air India, especially after the former chairperson of Turkish Airlines– Ilker Ayci, declined Tata’s offer for the post of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Ms. Malik and Ms. Sharan will act as advisors to Mr. Chandrasekaran.

Satya Ramaswamy, who worked at Tata Consultancy Services before, will become Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Air India.

The chairperson has selected Rajesh Dogra, who was in TCS for 16.6 years, for the role of Head of Customer Experience and Ground Handling at Air India.

Air India veteran R S Sandhu will retain his position of Chief of Operations at Air India management, the communique noted.

Besides him, another Air India veteran Vinod Hejmadi will continue working as Chief Financial Officer.

“The new appointees will exercise the powers of functional and departmental heads as per the delegation of authority. We wish them all the very best in their new role,” Mr. Chandrasekaran stated in the order.

The government handed over Air India to Talace Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata group’s holding firm, for Rs 18,000 crore on October 8, last year, after pursuing a rigorous bidding process.
