Pomila Jaspal To Take Charge Of Finance Director, CFO At ONGCSource: Twitter

Indian government-owned oil and gas explorer and producer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has selected Pomila Jaspal to take the responsibility of the Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer of the organization, effective immediately, the company announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Jaspal, a Fellow Member and Gold Medalist of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, has an experience of over 36 years across various segments of the oil & gas Industry comprising operating, regulatory, and policy aspects of upstream and downstream industry, the company said.

Jaspal has been associated with ONGC since 1985. She has also assumed the role of Director on the Board of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL), Petronet, Mangalore Hassan Bangalore Limited (PMHBL), and ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL).

She held duties in a variety of capacities in ONGC, including Corporate Office, Dehradun, Mumbai, Assam, and ONGC Videsh.

She was the first woman named as Head Finance of Assam Asset and led this project for four years. 

She has also worked in ONGC Videsh Ltd, where she oversaw the finance of various assets, including Sakhalin, South Sudan, Kazakhstan, and Colombia, among others, and helmed the smooth buyout of Azerbaijan assets, according to the company.

Before joining as the Director (Finance) of ONGC, Jaspal was a Director (Finance) at MRPL, an arm of ONGC. 

Notably, She was the first woman to serve on the MRPL Board of Directors as a Functional Director.

Jaspal graduated with B.Com. (Hons) degree from MCM DAV College, Chandigarh, and obtained an M.Com degree from Punjab University.
