Baba Ramdev, who is famous as yoga guru and the founder of the Patanjali Ayurveda, hopes to contribute to make India an economic super power country on multiple levels. He said that “We now need to think long term as we should aim to make India an economic super power by 2040”.
Baba Ramdev led Patanjali group is selling consumer goods ranging from shampoos to noodle, overtaking multinational ones. It has already given nightmares to FMCG giants like Hindustan Unilever and Colgate.
Baba Ramdev aims to double annual production and distribution of the firm in order to become India’s biggest Swadeshi brand within one to two years. According to him, this expansion will create five lakh jobs in coming years. While he claims that the growth will be driven by local brands.
In FY17, the Ayurvedic company have reported 111% rise in turnover to ₹10,561 crore. It is expected that Patanjali Ayurveda’s revenue will touch ₹20,000 crore in FY18.
