Today, on July 26, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre, AIIMS and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in reference to the report on the AIIMS MBBS paper leak case. An agency has been appointed by the court to file the report within a week. The matter is been looked into after Dr Anand Rai claimed in a written petition that this year’s paper was leaked.

The examination was held on May 28 and Anand Rai had alleged that the paper were leaked. Later, these allegations were found vague by a government panel. The AIIMS committee that discussed the issue nullified the allegations but did find some candidates from UP indulged in cheating with some officers. It also recommended a CBI probe into the matter Anand Rai is the same person who exposed the Vyapam Scam.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan is the representative of the case. August 16 is scheduled for the next hearing. On June 15, 27 days after the exam was conducted, the CBI had looked into the alleged cheating instances in the AIIMS MBBS entrance examination.

Sources reported that as of yet, search has been conducted at a place in Bagaha, Bihar and six in Ghaziabad including the HRIT campus in Morta area of district bu the CBI. All digital evidence in connection with the case has been seized by the premier investigation agency.

The AIIMS examination committee carried out the online exam in 107 cities, where a total of 2,84,737 candidates appeared and of these, 4905 have qualified. The results on July 15 declared Nishita Purohit, a Surat girl, the topper. She did her coaching from Allen Kota. With her score 95% in X and 91.04% in XII, Nishita has always been a keen student.

Counselling at AIIMS have begun since July 3 and the academic session is scheduled to begin from August 1.
