The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed various facilities for the state-run schools for being included in the 2019-20 budget which is reported to be Rs 2733.77 crores for the education department.
For accommodating the revised budget for this financial year, the BMC has proposed to include fine arts such as music, arts and sports education in the budget, along with providing counseling for establishing positive attitude within the students, for which the budget is allocated to be Rs 1 crore.
Along with these, the BMC has also registered for affiliation to Maharashtra International Education Board including advanced infrastructure facilities like attractive furniture, theme-based colors, sports training etc.
For the very first time, it has also proposed to introduce ‘Tinker Lab’ for Classes V to VIII for utilizing the existing 208 computer labs to their best. Joyful Learning will also be promoted through the establishment of Tinker labs since the 3D object of any object or image will be made possible.
Other facilities for which the provision has been made include the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for providing materials like a water bottle, lunch box, stationary etc.
