Students belonging to the flood affected area in Maharashtra will be given a full examination fee waiver, announced by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE).

The DHE has directed its various state offices in Pune, Sangli, Kolhapur, Nashik and Satara and in Konkan region to collect and submit the relevant information of such students.

Heavy rainfall in August has affected several districts and the life and livelihood of lakhs of people.

In total total 15 universities came under DHE across Maharashtra. The fees vary with university, examination, course, year of examination, nature of examination and student category but the DHE has decided to give a complete fee waiver to students from such flood-hit districts for all examinations to be held at the end of the term which are scheduled during October and November.

Savitribai Phule Pune University SPPU has fees starting from Rs 340 (for arts and commerce courses), Rs 500 (for science) to Rs 1,020 (interdisciplinary studies) per semester for theory subjects without any backlogs.

The university had offered to re-issue mark sheets, degree certificates and other vital documents to students from these flood-affected areas.
