Amid COVID-19 concerns, on Friday BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has stated that the entrance examination must be held after diwali. This statement came after there was furor over conducting JEE and NEET exams.

Adding more on to the information, Swamy stated concerns of students has been conveyed to Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank who is the Education Minister . In one the tweets Swamy said that “With the number of new COVID-19 cases rising each day, they have soared to 70,000 per day, it is one of the major concern of the students that Education Ministry approaches the CJI court at his home and seek an adjournment to November after Deepavali for conducting the exam”.

In another tweet Sawmy said that “The concern has already been tweeted as well as conveyed to Education Minister that JEE, NEET exams should be after Deepavali for the appearing students. Minister will be holding an emergency meeting. Let us see. I was asked to intervene by you all at a very late stage after SC had delivered its judgment”.

On Monday, plea was dismissed by the Supreme Court had seeking postponement of JEE (Main) April 2020 and NEET-Undergraduate examinations, which has been scheduled to be held in the month of September, amid  the number of COVID-19 cases rising each day,  the precious year of students “cannot be wasted” and life needs to move ahead.
