The Jawaharlal Nehru University announced on Tuesday that it had uploaded 8,482 diplomas/degrees/certificate courses of BA, MA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. students in National Academic Depository, an initiative of the govt. to create an online storehouse for all academic awards. Following the vision of the initiative, the Jawaharlal Nehru University digitalizes all-academic awards.

The Process for the implementation of NAD was conducted in May 2018, according to the varsity officials. The Uploaded documents at the NAD includes photographs and other required details according to the course opted. The benefits obtained with the NAD initiative includes privacy of documents and 24×7 digital online system available for authentication, retrieval, and verification of academic awards in a digital manner for NAD users.

It also ensures the authenticity of documents uploaded for every single student and confirms the safety of documents.

“Jawaharlal Nehru University has been prompt in introducing this revolutionary move and started the process of digitalization in May 2018. It is significant that from the year 2014 onwards, a total of 8482 diplomas, degree, and certificates of BA, MA, M.Phil and Ph.D. students across all Schools and Special Centres have been uploaded by JNU in the NAD depository,” read the press release from JNU’s Rector II SC Garkoti.
