The trailer of Yami Gautam’s thriller drama A Thursday was released yesterday. The film showcases a hostage situation laced with suspense which sheds the spotlight on different facets of human nature. The high stakes hostage drama is directed by Behzad Khambata. The trailer features Yami Gautam as Naina, a school teacher, taking 16 students of kindergarten school hostage. Naina has a twisty side with secrets buried within herself, and threatens to overwhelm the country.
The film also features Neha Dhupia playing the character ACP Catherine Alvarez. Naina makes threatening calls to the ACP demanding to speak to the Prime Minister. Veteran actor Dimple Kapadia features the Prime Minister in the film. However, if the police force and the PM refuse to fulfil her demands, she will shoot the students in alphabetical order. Yami Gautam fans are startled by the fierce character Naina Jaiswal. The actress has always been spotted playing generous roles on screen. However, the trailer of A Thursday portrays the powerful and fearless character. On being asked about her journey portraying the intense character in the film, Yami Gautam said, “I have never ever played such a distinct character like Naina! She projects so many diverse emotions. I have really put in a lot of effort to portray her in different shades. She is a teacher, who always looks after the children and she has taken them hostage, transforming her from a protector to a threat. That situation itself is so tense with multiple layers to it. A Thursday is an absolute roller coaster ride and I totally loved being a part of it!”
The trailer of the upcoming thriller drama looks promising and a treat to the lovers of A Wednesday. The film is scheduled to release on Disney+Hotstar on February 17. This is Yami’s second collaboration with Hotstar after Bhoot Police.
