Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan may share screen after 11 years for Mani Ratnam’s next film

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Father in law Amitabh Bachchan may reunite after 11 years for Mani Ratnam‘s new periodic drama film. According to DNA reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has already signed the project, the senior Bachchan is yet to give his nod for the film.

The film is an adaption of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel Ponniyin Selvan (The Son of Ponni). It is a big budget Historical drama. This film will be as big as Baahubali franchise. Sources said it is a bilingual project with several big names from the South Indian film industry. Mani approached his muse Aishwarya for the female lead and she signed the project.

The reports also quoted that,” That there will be an ensemble cast, the actors have already been asked for bulk dates and commit to the movie for few years as the movie will be made in three parts of a five-volume book.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan were last seen together in Sarkar Raj in 2008. They also have co-starred in the song Kajra Re, from the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli, which also featured Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya will be sharing the screen with her husband in the upcoming films like Badla and Brahmastra.
