Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari‘ completed its second day at the box office and collected ₹16.70 crores. The film had a 20% drop from its first-day collection. Yesterday, the film observed the biggest opening of 2019 with ₹21.06 crores. ‘Kesari’ is Akshay Kumar’s second highest opener after ‘Gold’. Till date, the film has collected a total of ₹37.76 crores.

Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office figures of the film on Twitter and wrote, “#Kesari is solid on Day 2… A decline on a working day – after a holiday – is common, but the decline is less this time… Will score big numbers on Day 3 and 4… Is chasing a huge total in its *extended weekend*… Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.70 cr. Total: ₹ 37.76 cr. India biz.”

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari’ narrates the story of the bravest battle ever fought in the history of world Battle of Saragarhi. It explores the story of Havildar Ishar Singh who participated in the Battle. The Battle of Saragarhi which was fought on 12 September 1897, is known as the bravest battle ever fought because it witnessed an army of 21 Sikhs soldiers of the British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghans.

The 36th Sikhs was an infantry regiment comprising only 21 Sikh soldiers. The regiment is now known as the 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment. They were stationed at an army post and were attacked by around 10,000 Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province, now called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
