A.R. Rahman and Sukhwinder Singh have given us most celebrated numbers from ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ to the more recent ‘Sachin anthem.’ Now, for the very first time, both will come together for a non-film album, which is being planned to release for a September release.
Sukhwinder has revealed that the single would be different from any of the music scores that the Oscar winning composer A.R Rahman is known for. He said,” He has planned it as an out-of-the-ordinary track. I would call it a lively track that would resonate with the youth of today. We will be shooting the video soon after we finish the recording in the next two months, after which we plan to release it.” He added,” Rahman knows best how to tap my voice. He has always given me the freedom to sing without any so-called rules. He once told me that my hi-pitched voice had the energy and quality of an extempore stage performance and he loved it.”
Singer Sukhwinder, who has sung the song ‘Kooke Kawn’ for the upcoming Sridevi starrer film ‘Mom’, which has been composed by AR Rahman has said,”I was having dinner with Rahman two months ago in his studio and he told me about this light, peppy number and the next day, we decided to record it. It has shaped up really well.”
