Ashish Chanchlani posted a new video on his YouTube channel on June 24, 2019. The video is titled “Gupt Gyaan” and is both funny and knowledgeable. The video has 490k views in an hour.
Even though the title makes it somewhat clear, the video is about a father trying to have an ‘adult conversation’ with his son, explaining him things around sex. The title can be seen as a deliberate attempt to debunk the taboo of sex. It is high time that people or parents, in general, realize the importance of sex education. Knowing how fast the world is advancing forward, everybody has access to almost everything. Also, the kids of this generation are far more aware because of the internet.
Sex education may seem like a tough thing because of the awkwardness it might bring, but will at least settle the curious minds and they won’t have to resort to other means to quench their thirst of knowledge.
As evident in the video, the son also tries his best to dodge the conversation, maybe because he is afraid that he will be answerable as to how did he learn all this. He gives answers that are funny but never lets his dad start a full conversation about sex.
What is important is that parents should realize that if they won’t try to step out of their comfort zone to aware their children at a young age, they will be passing on a legacy of taboo to the next generation, which won’t come to an end soon.
He also brings another important point to the forefront that the ‘consent is necessary’, a thing which not a lot of people want to believe in. Women are still considered as properties of men by people out there. Not all of them are like that but there still are some that have a regressive mindset.
