I felt life has come full circle from sperm donor to erectile dysfunction: Ayushmann!

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently gearing up for his upcoming Bollywood drama film title ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan‘, which is directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aanand L Rai. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role.

About his upcoming movie, Ayushmann Khurrana says that after charming everyone with his debut movie ‘Vicky Donor’, which was based on the sperm donor. Now, his upcoming movie will be based on the subject of erectile dysfunction and the actor says that the issues like this should be deal with innocence to avoid vulgarity.

Director R.S. Prasanna says that his upcoming movie ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ is a love story of a young couple, Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar, and the problem arises when their parents come to know about the protagonist’s erectile dysfunction.

In a recent interview, Ayushmann Khurrana says, “I had asked Shoojit Sircar (director of ‘Vicky Donor’), ‘Why did you chose me for the role of a sperm donor’? He said, he wanted somebody who has a clean image and looks innocent. If that innocence is taken out of the subject then it may become cheap.”

Moreover, the actor says that such kind of movie requires an innocent and a loveable personality to play the role. He added, “Bhumi and I had to bring that innocence in our chemistry to deal with the subject. With this subject, innocence will work otherwise it won’t work.” About his experience on collaborating with his ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ co-star Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana says, “It’s great to be working with someone who is a friend, but you have to be good actors as well. I am glad people like our pairing on screen.”

When the makers of the movie approached him to play such role he was not at all surprised. On this, he said, “It was very ironical when I got to know the subject, I felt life has come a full circle from a sperm donor to erectile dysfunction. This kind of film is required in today’s day and age. People are patriarchal, they don’t talk about problems and it’s sad.”Moreover, Ayushmann says that the movie will spread a message that we can hide our problem under the carpet, we have to open up and talk about our problems.

Talking about the movie, where Ayushmann will be seen tackling the issue of erectile dysfunction and how it brings changes to his family life. While Bhumi Pednekar will play his on-screen love.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” is all set to release on September 1.
