After opening to poor numbers at the box office and witnessing a dull weekend, Saand Ki Aankh has made a huge jump on Monday. The film that collected Rs 45 lakhs on its first day has managed to collect over seven times of that amount on its fourth day. The film grossed Rs 3.25 crore on Monday, according to a report on Box Office India.

The report said despite the growth the occupancy remains low especially for a national holiday. The film was released on over 1000 screens and despite the growth these sort of collections do not reflect a good return on a big holiday.

Saand Ki Aankh has a more targeted audience as it is mainly for metros but a film like Joker which is also for metros only was doing far higher numbers on less than half the shows of this film and that too without the national holiday.

The film earned Rs 1.10 crore and Rs 95 lakhs on its second and third day respectively. Now, it remains to be seen if there is enough rise in the numbers post Monday. The remaining days, Tuesday to Thursday, are extremely crucial for a strong first week.

The film had a clash with other two big films – Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4 that also starred a number of other actors and Rajummar Rao and Mouni Roy starrer Made In China. Going by the numbers, Housefull 4 is maintaining its dominance at the box office.

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is a biographical drama based on the lives of India’s oldest sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar played by Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar respectively.

Saand Ki Aankh recently received overwhelming response at a prestigious film festival in China. The film got a standing ovation at the 3rd Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival (PYIFF) held on 17 October in Pingyao city of Shanxi province in China.
