British censor board certifies 'Padmavati' for Dec 1 release in UK!

Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s upcoming period drama movie titled ‘Padmavati‘ has been cleared by the British Board of Film Certification (BBFC) and that too without a single cut. The British board has passed the movie for its official release on December 1 in the United Kingdom.

The movie has been cleared for a 12A audience that means that the person of 12 years and above can watch the movie but they have to be accompanied by an adult. The summary of the movie notes that the movie is a Hindi language epic drama and in the movie, Sultan Alauddin Khilji makes an invasion to capture the Rajput queen Rani Padmini.

The movie has been in the eye of a storm. There are many protests that are happening from the consecutive groups and that is over alleged tampering with the historical facts. However, the makers of the movie have denied all such reports.

On Wednesday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that they would be getting the story of the Rajput queen Rani Padmini which includes in school curriculum from next year. The movie ‘Padmavati’ features Deepika Padukone in the lead role of Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja Ratan Rawal Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The movie which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Earlier, the movie has been slated for December 1 but now there has been deferred as the maker of the movie are yet to secure a censor certificate. Now, the makers of the movie will decide the release date of the movie once they will get a certificate from the Censor Board.
